Lebanon. The Lebanon Valley Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors met November 10, 2009 in a meeting chaired by Barry Ansel.
The resignation of Jeff Sterner from the Board of Directors effective December 2009 was accepted with regret.
Chairman Barry Ansel’s appointment of Bill Kurtz as Chair of the LVEDC Park Committee was approved. The Park Committee is responsible for the corporation’s real estate development activity.
President Charles Blankenship reported that LVEDC’s current office on Schaeffer Road will be made available for lease as an office after relocation to the corporation’s new office in the Lebanon Valley Business Park in February or March.
Blankenship also reported that progress was being made in establishing the administrative procedure for the new Lebanon Urban Revitalization Enterprise (L.U.R.E.) strategy. He noted that:
• The Annville Center project had successfully received a proposal which was forwarded to the Annville Economic Development Authority for consideration at their November 17th meeting. This pilot project will be used as a model for future developer attraction activities. • Internal procedures for implementing the Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance law (LERTA) in the county are in place. • Documents for the new L.U.R.E. loan guarantee program were drafted by legal counsel for review.Blankenship also reported that his recent foreign investment mission to Germany netted five new prospects for LVEDC to follow up with. Blankenship mentioned that the first two land sales in the Hawk Acres Enterprise Place will be for German company operations.
