Lebanon Valley Economic Development Corporation Board Meets, Sets City Economic Summit Date, Approves Loan, Elects Director

The Lebanon Valley Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors met January 12, 2010 at a regular meeting chaired by Barry Ansel.

Ansel welcomed new board members Mayor Sherry Capello and County Planning Director Kris Troup.

President Charles Blankenship advised the Board that the Lebanon City Economic Summit was scheduled for March 26, 2010. Blankenship stated that the purpose of the Summit is to develop an implementable action plan to assist the City in becoming economically viable.

LVEDC Board members volunteering as group discussion leaders for the City Summit are Barry Ansel, Tom Haag, Jeff Orner, George Custer, Doug Myers and Kathleen Kramer.

The Board approved a $189,200 Small Business First loan to Peak Industries, located in the City of Lebanon, for equipment purchases.

In other action the Board elected George Soukas of Regupol America, as a Director.

Barry reported that the Corporation’s Loan Committee completed the design of the administrative process and documents for the new Lebanon Urban Revitalization Enterprise loan gurantee initiative. Printed literature explaining the new program will be distributed at the City Economic Summit Blankenship said.
